Description

I. Position Summary:

The Patient Care Technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice, under the supervision of the RN and assists with direct patient care; functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC.

Qualifications::

I. Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Current BLS Certification. Current Colorado certification as a CNA.

B. Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

C. Experience:

One to two years experience in a clinical setting preferred.

D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrates good organizational skills.

Some specified skills may be required by specific departments.

III. Degree of Supervision Required:

Under supervision of RN.

IV. Orientation Period:

Minimum of 1 week contingent upon experience. Extensive orientation may be required and will be determined by Department Director.
